What Level Lume is, what it shows, and how it works.
Level Lume is a smart wall display that shows your home's electricity and water consumption as ambient light. It hangs in your hallway like a piece of art and glows in different colors and levels to show what's happening in real time.
No screen, no app required. You walk past and know — intuitively — how your day is going.
Orange/Red — Electricity consumed from the grid. A red tint may indicate peak hours or high-carbon moments.
Green — Electricity returned to the grid from solar panels. More green = you're producing more than you're using.
Blue — Water consumption. A sudden blue spike at 3am? That's a leak.
You set a daily target for your electricity and water use (for example, 12 kWh or 150 liters). The LED level fills through the day — when it reaches the top, you've hit your target. The goal is to stay under.
Levels reset at midnight (or a time you choose), so every day is a fresh start.
No. The fixture works completely on its own. You configure it once via a simple web interface on your phone, then forget about it.
There is an optional web dashboard that shows history, cost estimates, and lets you adjust targets — but it's entirely optional.
Gas tracking is supported for meters that report gas via the P1 port (common in the Netherlands and Belgium). It appears as an additional level on the display.
What you need, what works, and how long it takes.
Level Lume works with:
For water tracking: HomeWizard Water Meter or Flume 2. See the full compatibility list →
Under 10 minutes for most people. Plug in the hub, connect to your WiFi, and Level Lume starts reading from your meter. No electrician needed, no wiring.
Not at all. If you can connect a device to WiFi, you can set up Level Lume. The setup wizard walks you through everything step by step.
Every Level Lume order includes:
WiFi is needed for the initial setup and for connecting to cloud-based sensors (HomeWizard, Flume). Once running, the fixture communicates with the hub over your local network — it doesn't require internet to display your data.
The optional cloud dashboard does require internet for history and remote access.

Yes. Level Lume supports over-the-air (OTA) updates. New features and improvements are pushed automatically when your device is connected to WiFi.
Does it actually help?
Research shows that making energy consumption visible reduces usage by up to 30%. This was famously demonstrated in the 1970s Amsterdam study, where simply moving meters from basements to hallways changed household behavior dramatically.
Level Lume is designed around this principle. It won't turn off your lights for you — but it will make you aware, and awareness drives change.
Very little. The fixture draws about 2–3 watts when active and under 0.5W in ECO mode (when no one is nearby). That's less than a phone charger.
